data should pain the picture. if it gaps up, changes everything, gaps down, same story but

A: Bums me out...:(
Now I 'LOVE' Autumn especially here when we have a nice Indian Summer(is that politically
incorrect..ha..maybe it's now refered to as Extended Summer)
Beautiful..Oh So Beautiful..:)
St. Regis football..for months on end..:)(my 12 year old opted out this year..scared of
getting beatin all to H@LL).
He was hurt often last season..no fun on the sidelines!!
NCAA...the BIG HOUSE..Maze and Blue...fun fun fun!
Although it pains me a bit when I hear the marching band beating the Summer away..
It bums me out..darn it all!!
I really wish for one more month of Summer vacation..and my children home with me.
6:30 am..will be tough to handle on Tues morning...alarm clocks with snooze buttons don't
work around here.
Summer just goes by much too fast...

A: Both are good companies with big backlogs but earnings can be "lumpy". Contracts
do not come in a steady stream and sometimes get pushed back. Betting on a quarter is
always difficult, more so in this group than most. more - Post your own answer

After a strong quarter...FTK is worth a look here. Has sold off with oil, but
growth is strong and valuation is low. Dean -

A: This oil selloff might just continue though, that's the thing. I keep hearing, "Don't
fight the tape." Maybe you will see it even lower and then snatch it up, but whatever
you do, don't just buy a whole position in it now if you're going to start investing in
it, because you gotta watch out in case it trades down further. Even use a wide scale - be
cautious. more - Post your own answer

I think much of the pain being felt can be avioded by realizing this: The
stocks we made the most money on last year are not going to lead going forward.
The trap everyone is falling into is looking at the fundamentals. In a
transitional market this is a mistake. Stocks that are topping or have topped
have GREAT fundamentals. Once growth slows (or all the big money believes
growth is slowing) then they are DONE. Not saying that they might come
back..but no more mo-mo. Steel is a prime example currently.
The sectors that we have avoided will be the ones leading us out. -

A: This is why diversification is the only free lunch the market will ever give you. Sure
I'm in commodity based stocks, but I also own a retail based, VFC, and I own and trade
around a core position in GS. GS almost single handedly kept my portfolio on the plus
side for the year, thanks to the love/hate relationship with the financials.
Diversification is key. Diversify across sectors and even across high and low beta
stocks. Have dividend payers and mo-mo high fliers. This type of diversification will
preserve capital in times like these and let you ride the crazy train when the bull is off
and running. more - Post your own answer

Watch MDR, FWLT, FLR here. History of ramping into earnings...way oversold, and
if oil rallys just a little..could be a perfect bullish storm. Dean -
