  I understand the reasoning that when the dollar goes up,commodities go down.
  The question is what if for example the dollar goes up every day for the next
  month. I don't think that the commodities would go down every day. What would be
  the stabilizer for these companies to go up in this environment?

• A: well, it isnt a 1:1 ratio. but the way people play it in futures trading is they put on
  pairs trades, or spreads. so im going to buy the SPX and sell the dollar all in one trade.
  if i exit the trade, im out of both. OR you can go long crude oil, short the dollar. thats
  a big trade. or gold too.
  
  once you get into the grains or the softs, this isnt found as much. but metals and
  energies its a big play. so yeah, dollar strength will put commodities under some pressure
  and this will probably be true until the fed has higher interest rates relative to the
  world. more

  why with the market up and the dollar down stocks like FCX BUCY ANR CLF went
  down so much off their highs for the day? I thought the weaker dollar would

• A: The federal PBGC insures pensions up to a certain amount. Unfortunately, an automaker
  bankruptcy would probably also bankrupt the PBGC.

• A: well according too everyone on cnbc ,and pretty much everywhere now we r great and u have
  too buy now,even stock that have rallyed over 50%, stock now do go up i a strait line,the
  whole financial collaps was just a huge joke by the gov. there is no recession
  ,unemployment is great ,housing bottomed a year ago ,the rest od world is growing over
  20%,,,,,well at least all this is what these major bulls like to beleive more

• A: Short foreign exposed ETF's may have some legs left, but I wouldn't be shorting too much
  on the US side, too big of a chance of being on the wrong side of the trade. more

  Is the decline in commodities especially coal a panic selling? My
  understanding is the China had to shut down 2 aluminum plants for lack of coal
  and China also has a couple of days supply.
