- Q:
Are we putting in a bottom here? Or is this just another leg down in a Bear
market?
I think I own stock in quality companies. But I'm not sure if I should buy
down, or if I should sell everything and wait for the smoke to clear. So far it
feels like I'm getting crushed buying down.
I'm also wondering if it is best to collect dividends in this market or reinvest
them as we go down.
Any thoughts? -

A: Now that I've been slaughtered...
Should I reinvest the dividends, hold, and start buying on the way up?
My timeframe is 3-5 years on half my portfolio, 4-12 months on the rest. Though for my
shorter term stocks, I only buy things I would be willing to hold longer - was just
expecting shorter term moves. Of course I was expecting those moves to the upside, not
straight down :(
thnx everyone for your ideas and advice! more - Post your own answer
- Q:
I was reading Cramer's recap on Allscripts. Can someone explain how the
Medicare bill requires electronic prescriptions -- Medicare doesn't take care of
prescriptions. You have to buy separate insurance for that. ?? -

- Q:
What is the edge for an investor?
The market seems so difficult, and more of a day trading market. Without
millions of dollars available to average down, how can an investor do well? -

A: and if you don't get that bounce then your third bid is going to be the total of the first
and second bids added together on another big dip.....so don't bet it all on the first
bid....have some patience...$30 stocks bounce back in forth in roughly 20 cents to 1.50
movements....depending on the stock....the dead money plays are the ones everyone really
likes....those over $100 plays freak people out cause of bigger money moves...it's the
down side that scares most but that i think is cause people like to buy big right off the
go. more - Post your own answer

- Q:
Need some help please.
1) nvda: should I cut my losses now?
2) confused about Cramer's nat gas advice: lost power from a storm so only
caught part of his show. Thought he was telling subscribers to buy but then on
tv said to sell. What gives - what did I miss?
3) Potash: is the ag trade over?
4) I'm having trouble judging how I'm doing in this market. My stock portfolio
is doing better than my mutual funds. But I am losing money. Wondering if I
should move everything to cash, but the question is for how long.
Any advice is appreciated. thnx! -

A: This is copied and pasted from tonight's show, from his newsletter:
Cramer warned that there will be more pain coming for his favorite sector, natural gas. He
told investors that if they can't handle a 5% to 10% sell-off in the group, they may want
to scale back now and buy some back at lower levels. more - Post your own answer

GM Optional Convertible Preferred (GPM)- anyone know how safe the dividend is?
In general, how safe is preferred vs common? Do both get wiped out with a
bankruptcy? Not worried about GM with this, just curious.

A: gm has been on my official POS list for some time now, if you even think that you will
make a bundle on them , let me make a small suggestion. the only way it will happen is if
you put down a few hundred k, and wait for a 10 cent pop then get right out. other wise,
gm wont be back to even 20 bucks a share for another 10 yrs, i have the patience. but not
for sleeping dogs....chris more - Post your own answer

A: yea i think its a good starting point, i don't forsee them missing earnings again, they
will prob. come in-line, nice divi, if your willing to sit in it for the long haul you
will be rewarded nicely, but i think at the 30 range is a buy and hold for the long term more - Post your own answer
