A: It's amazing how their store just popped up in the small outside mall conveniently near
where I live in the Town of Geddes, NY, inbetween Dick's Sporting Goods and Pet Smart.
Haven't been in there yet but we go through a lot of shampoo so we'll give them some
business. more - Post your own answer

Here is an open challenge to stockpickr.
Instead of arguing about the "value" of listening to conference calls, why dont
you show me.
Do this. Pick 10 conference calls in the next 3 months. After listening to that
blather, pick the direction of those 10 stocks. Then we'll wait 3 months to see
if there's any benefit you derive from those conference calls. If your total
gain after 3 months is 5% or more, I'll concede. Go ahead, prove it. Ten will
get you twenty that you won't take this bet. I've said it before and I'll say it
again: listening to conference calls is a waste of time. Prove me wrong. -

A: Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. However if you would have listened to APC's
conference call on September 9th the company gave enough hints the Venus well was a
discovery and the stock over that time frame was up about 10 points over a weeks time. more - Post your own answer

them. It's the only thing you're good at. more - Resolved
- Q:
What are the most dangerous traps a trader can fall into?
my take, one word : Hubris.
The trap has nothing to do with the markets. Traders get cocky and arrogant and
soon they are slaughtered. Bragging about a trade. Making fun of someone's loss.
Etc. Deadly. -

David MacDougall, re: thestreet.com stock ratings, buy-sell-hold:
what is the performance record of these ratings? Value Line prints the
performance of their highly rated stocks, surely thestreet.com has similar
statistics on their 'buys' and 'sells' -

A: While our internal performance statistics are confidential, there are sites the monitor
performance for research recommendations like ours, such as Investors.com. Be aware that
the metrics used for performance monitoring vary greatly from site to site and some
methods can skew results. In general terms, we have very strong performance, particularly
in bear markets. more - Post your own answer
