• A: MA and V would have been great candidates if the stimulus went directly to us taxpayers, a

  Doug Kass wrote another piece recently about Warren Buffett losing his mojo, not
  to mention billions of dollars. BRKB closed yesterday at $2,800, a full $2,000
  below its high of $4,800. Are you still a believer in Buffett? Would you buy

• A: There's also the opportunity for capital gains (and losses!), especially on the long end
  of the yield curve. The lower the interest rate goes, the higher the capital gain.
  Unfortunately, the higher the interest rate, the higher the capital loss. YMMV. more

• A: Hi Ira. Thanks for the note! My favorite indicator is simply price. I'm serious. I
  think there is too much attention paid to secondary indicators that parse price and volume
  to provide some kind of insight that actually doesn't really exist.
  
  But with that said, I do watch Bollinger Bands quite a bit. Perhaps it's because I spent
  a short while working with John several years and came to understand them pretty well.
  But they do give a pretty good indication of price and trend changes before it would
  otherwise be apparent to the naked eye. more
