Is AT&T (T) ever going to break above $30 again? Why are they lagging so much
behind where they were a year ago? -

A: Buy if for the divvy and trade around a core position. That's what I do. When T goes up,
say in the $28-30 range I'll sell some and when it drops to the $24 range I buy some. It
has been a laggard so I've pretty much just been collecting the divvy. more - Post your own answer

I am looking for some advice on Ford - This is the first company that I
purchased and have been adding to my possition over the last couple of years(I
have 600 shares with a cost average of $5.68/share)and have realized a double in
my money. I don't want to be piggish but feel strongly that this stock has
another $4 or $5 gain potential in the next 6 months or so. Should I take some
off the table and play with my profits or is there really more upward movement
in this stock. Also any ideas on how long before Ford might start their
dividends again? Your advice and comments are greatly appreciated. I am still
reasonibly new to the market and have never sold any of my stocks; just been
adding to my holdings. -

A: Hold at least until it goes back up past 12 the market has been down and it would be
better to sell on a good day. My opinion though is to hold the stock ford has been doing a
lot of good stuff to make their stock climb(like selling volvo) I know that ill be holding
on to my shares until I see signs to a downtrend more - Post your own answer

I am really puzzled why AT&T - T - is stuck in the rut that it hasn't seemed to
be able to break out of. It's a solid company with consistant dividents, an
increasing market share and with the Apple iPhone service; you would think that
this company should be reaching out towards it's 52 week high and establishing
an even stronger showing. I know the Quarterly Report is due tomorrow and
indications are that this company will beat earnings, based mostly on it's Apple
exclusivisity and the increase of new contracts. What will be needed to bring
this stock back to the $30+ price? -

A: well stocks that are making 52wk highs are not exactly all junk stocks. IBM,AMZN,AAPL are
not junk. what they are is growth. T doesnt have much of it. thats its problem. not to
mention the sector as a whole hasnt been that good since the 90's. more - Post your own answer

What is the easiest way to determine book value or value of a company per share
outstanding to help determine what the company is worth. Or what is the better
way to determine the upper and lower range that a stock should be valued at, to
make the best choice of purchasing or selling of stocks. Thanks in advance for
the info. -

A: Book value is just a calculation from a company's balance sheet:
book value = stockholder's equity / number of shares outstanding
One way to get a range of values is to look at the company's historical p/e or other
metric and see how high or low it has varied over time. Whether a stock price is high or
low is a little like beauty ... it's in the eye of the beholder. db more - Post your own answer

I am curious about a stock that goes to $0.00 or the company that goes Bankrupt.
Situation is I own Ford (F) and still have faith that the company can recover.
What happens if the stocks slip to $0.00 - do they just dissapear or can they
still gain value after that?
If the company goes Bankrupt - what happens to the stocks value over time?
I have a long term outlook for this company (10 years or more) and am really
curious as to what happens in these two situations.
Please advise and inform me. -

A: If you're holding Ford for the long term please understand that it quite possibly could go
to $0 and you could lose your full investment. Why? because once a company files for
bankruptcy its the bond holders that get there money first, not the common stock
shareholders. Most of the time shareholders of the common stock get nothing. I understand
you're wanting to hold Ford long term as an investment, however with the financial shape
that all 3 auto compaies are in, buying their common stocks is like pulling the handle on
a slot machine.

Question for all -
I own an equal amount of MO & PM; I got into this before the split and neither
stock has preformed unexpectedly. I got into MO for the steady dividend and use
it as a DRIP for growth, These stocks are 6.5% & 5% respectively for dividends.
I'm looking at 10 or more years before I will NEED to think about cashing them
out.
My question is should I keep my position the same with these, consolidate them
to one company (and if so which one should I stay with)or cash out of them both
all together?
Thanks in advance -

A: Of the two, I suppose PM is the better long term because it sells in countries not as
hostile to tobacco. I bailed on both PM and MO recently. If you like a sin stock, why not
DEO? Cramer hasn't mentioned it lately, think it's paying slightly over 5%. Hard to say
which of the two, booze or tobacco, does more societal harm, but booze is more heavily
regulated and taxed. more - Post your own answer

A: So, when it's oversold that could mean a potential buy point although there are some other
indicators used in conjunction with that that you can read about it on your own. more - Post your own answer
