Cramer: Gold Rally ...

- Q:
Anyone buying URE/UYG or UXI? Won't they do well in the recovery process?
Plus, they pay great dividends when they are doing well.
Thoughts on these? -

A: I've been trading in and out of URE. For a while, it could be bought in the low 3s and
sold in the 4s. It almost reminds me of the shippers. I never really traded stocks until
this year. This is one I like to trade. more - Post your own answer

New Question: Anyone buying any FMD off yesterdays news? The financials seem to
be holding steady so far. I wonder what earnings will bring. -

- Q:
So what happens when we get to the end of this quarter and the banks show they
were working on profits? What kind of bump is that going to give the market? I
bought some FMD, GS, C and UYG before C's remarks. I am going to hold on to
them until the end of the quarter. Anyone else thinking like that? -

A: what happens if they dont?
i prefer not to assume and just wait. clearly the banks turning a profit is a good thing.
them not doing so is a bad thing. dont complicate it. more - Post your own answer

- Q:
I feel like a horse that should be taken to the glue factory. Wait that would
put me out of my misery so it might not be bad.
I am one of the people that got into the market at DOW 13,000 +. I traded in
and out of some positions and made some money in 2007 but lost some in 2008.
Right now I am holding stuff that is obviously down but the fundamentals are
strong. I trade around a core position and try and make a little here and there
to take some gains. I am down about 40% overall just from the sheer DOW drop.
I have been putting money in a cash account for about 6 months now and I have a
good amount to invest back in at these levels. I am curious what sector people
are looking at. I have AA Plus and a few others (I know what Cramer says) but
is there anyone out there that thinks the banking bottom has to be close. I
mean what about UYG, FMD, GS etc...I also like FWLT and FCX. I mean how can
FWLT not be a buy with a 3.6 P/E? Just curious what I am missing.
The positive side is I am in the Air Force so I will have a retirement coming in
when I decide to retire. Even if I lost all the money in my brokerage account
it would not effect the way I live. -

A: well first, thanks for your service.
more to the matter at hand though, since youre in the military, id strongly suggest the
book 'the art of war for traders and investors'. I personally prefer Sun Tzu's original,
but this book does a good job of analogizing war tactics and trading tactics.
for example; do you directly attack an army that is in disaray, or one the that is orderly
and disciplined?
since we know we attack (i.e. short) the army in disaray, why would we get long
financials?
i think that book will be a lot better than buying some stocks right now. you have the
training, understanding of momentum, and dicipline that few traders have. so learning how
to develop and translate those skills into markets is--IMO--your advantage.

I need help! Is it legal for me to open a roth IRA for my 2 year old daughter?
I want to invest any gifts she gets and I figured this would be the best way.
From what I have been reading she must have earned income to open a roth ira.
Does anyone know the deal on this? -

- Q:
What are everyones thoughts on GS. I have been buying on the way down and I
still really like them under $100. Once the hedgefunds get back in and we get
some good news (it will happen sometime in 09) won't this be back to $150? They
are still strongest in category and have some good minds working for them. -

I am looking for a good spec stock. I have a 2 year old and I have purchased
some DIS, FWLT and MO for her already. I am looking for a spec stock to add to

- Q:
Does anyone like WB in the 5s? Now that we know the Fed won't let the banks go
under is this a strong long term play based on the merger? I know banks are a
no-no but does anyone else think that buying GS, WB and C now could be a great
long term play? At these levels even if they got back 25-50% of their 07 levels
we would be sitting pretty. Thoughts? -

A: Watch out for value traps. Think there is better stuff out there with safer divy yields if
that is your interest. Pharma, telco even tobacco, IMHO. more - Post your own answer
