A: The same guy that did "Endgame"... some fringe paranoid ideas. I don't doubt
that there will be another world power hungry dictator...or group. I think that it is
very unlikely to happen in this country. Our military would be very hard to be used for
anything that wasn't freedom based...those guys are just not programmed that way. Plus,
we as civilians are armed to the hilt. Anyone that would attempt to go to military rule
would get a hell of a civil war. As in any conspiracy theories...there are too many
moving parts, too many people that would need to be involved for it to really work. Good
cinema...but probably nothing to lose sleep over. more - Post your own answer

A: Pengrowth is one of the more popular names among the royalty trusts. Two numbers I always
want to know on these the the oil/gas asset mix and and the reserve life.
In this case, it's about 50/50 and 7.4 years of proved reserves. This is good to know,
because the trust will either keep producing until there's nothing left (and in theory the
stock goes to $0), or it raises more financing (dilution) to buy new assets.
As you can you might expect from the name, Canadian Oil Sands doesn't have any natural gas
exposure to speak of. 43 years of proved and prospective reserve life, but note the much
smaller 2% dividend yield (quarterly payouts).
Finally, Permian Basin's dividend is somewhere in between at 4.3%. 6.8 years of proved
reserves, and a 61/39 mix of oil and gas last quarter, based on gross proceeds. more - Post your own answer

A: NLY increased its divvy to .60 per share yesterday after the close. Guess selling by ETF
would pressure the stock as it really hasn't moved all that much since February for crying
out loud. more - Post your own answer

A: If you are looking at General Electric (GE) over a span of 10 to 15 years, some
developments that seem negative now could turn around big time. For example, airlines are
doing poorly and orders for new engines have dropped off, resulting in the Pratt more - Post your own answer

GM Optional Convertible Preferred (GPM)- anyone know how safe the dividend is?
In general, how safe is preferred vs common? Do both get wiped out with a

A: gm has been on my official POS list for some time now, if you even think that you will
make a bundle on them , let me make a small suggestion. the only way it will happen is if
you put down a few hundred k, and wait for a 10 cent pop then get right out. other wise,
gm wont be back to even 20 bucks a share for another 10 yrs, i have the patience. but not

A: Rite Aid (RAD) is having profit problems. It is moving from a deficit of $3.4 8 per share
in its latest fiscal year to an estimated loss of 40 cents in the current year and then a
setback of 20 cents per share next year. That is movement in the right direction, but
there doesn’t seem to be a profit in sight until some time in the future, when an
economic expansion will hopefully be well under way. Its graded a D-minus overall from
TheStreet.com Ratings, which makes it a sell recommendation.
Wal-Mart Stores (WMT) is probably your safest bet in consumer staples retailing. Analysts
predict growth from $2.27 per share in its latest fiscal year to $2.27 in the current year
and $2.98 next year. It is a buy recommendation from TheStreet.com Ratings with an
overall grade of B. CVS Caremark (CVS) has a mark of C-plus from TheStreet.com Ratings,
placing it as a “hold” recommendation, one notch below a “buy.” Its earnings per
share are predicted by analysts to grow steadily from $2.27 for the latest fiscal year to
$2.57 in the current year and then to $2.98 next year. Walgreen (WAG) is a “hold”
recommendation, with a slower EPS growth forecast then CVS. more - Post your own answer

I use Scottrade. If I buy a stock with unsettled funds, it puts out a warning
about selling it before the funds settle. What does this mean? Thanks. I tried
to call them but waited for a long time so I thought I'd ask you. Thanks. -
